Scripps Selects AdPay to Provide Consolidated Print and Online Classifieds Platform
AdPay to provide an integrated print and online classifieds platform for Scripps Newspapers and Websites.
LAS VEGAS - Newspaper Association of America 2009 Marketing Conference, Las Vegas: The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE:SSP) today announced that it has chosen AdPay Inc. to provide Scripps with an innovative print and online classified ad platform for users of their newspapers and Web sites. In their search for a new partner, Scripps determined an immediate need to create a consolidated marketplace for their properties that better integrated with both print and online requirements while keeping pace with evolving classifieds strategies. Scripps expects all newspaper properties to be live on the AdPay platform by June 1.
According to Rusty Coats, VP Interactive for Scripps, “AdPay was willing to work with us to provide the kind of development leadership we know the industry already expects from them. AdPay responded to our needs by creating a Local Aggregation component that will attract and retain visitors under our locally trusted brands. Now Scripps sites are the only place people in our local markets can go for all classifieds in a single search.”
The AdPay platform allows the additional advantage of a single source classified order entry system for both print and online ads. The ads are linked directly to each newspaper’s specific categories and classifications. Tailored imports and exports will overcome constraints experienced up to this point. “Providing best-of-breed online classified services while effectively bridging the gap with our print classified systems has always been a challenge for us and our vendors,” continued Coats. “AdPay has proven again that they do this better than anyone. Everyone in our organization is excited about the future of our classifieds and the opportunity to drive new content, traffic and revenues around the classified experience.”
Scripps joins hundreds of other media Web sites already actively linked as partners in the AdPay national classifieds network. The AdPay network is the largest and most robust of its kind. It integrates classifieds ads, display ads and retail inventory in a single comprehensive shopping experience. AdPay’s consolidated classified suite will also provide online-centric Web-to-Print, Web-to-Web and patented Print-to-Web order entry to Scripps. In addition, the technology rolls video, online mapping and person-to-person commerce into a unified, cost-efficient solution. Additionally, properties can define which local competitors, like Craigslist, to include in their classified searches.
"AdPay is proud to be recognized by Scripps as its new partner in this changing world of classifieds," said Michael Heene, President & CEO of AdPay. "We have worked hard to be the blue ribbon provider of classified technology and customer service for our media partners. The industry’s continued validation of our approach and the renewed Scripps partnership affirms that we are still on the right track.”
